“The self-described zany duo, Andy and Mike Swan, aka Zippy and Hi-Tops the clowns have been performing together for over 30 years!”
“It all began when Andy's older brother George taught him how to juggle back in 1966. Andy says he would visit circuses just to see the jugglers.”
“After high school graduation he went off to join the De Wayne Bros. Circus. During his two years with them, he learned just about everything there was to learn about the circus lifestyle. Andy and Mike then toured as jugglers and clowns with Carden and Johnson Inter. Circus for one season.”
“In 1973 Andy approached his brother Mike with the idea of starting their own circus. Mike thought it was a great idea and they performed their first show in Wichita Falls, Texas, for a small group of 12 kids--Admission price--a can of food!”
“From there they went on to perform at fairs and festivals all over Northern California, becoming what they call themselves: "The biggest two man circus in the world." They perform approximately 20 days a month from Feb. to Oct.”
